Chamber Music Festival of Marble Falls
June 23-28
Harmony School of Creative Arts, the Uptown Marble Arts Alliance, and the Historic Main Street Association, all local non-profit organizations, have formed the first annual Chamber Music Festival of Marble Falls. The festival is geared specifically towards classically trained musicians to provide performance opportunities within a wide range of musical styles. Students, both young and old, will be grouped with “like-minded” musicians to participate in daily training on how to “co-exist” among other instrumentalists.
The festival will encourage groups to study a variety of musical styles through four specific genres: classical, folk, praise & worship, and jazz/20th century. Realizing the love of music encompasses not only those who perform but also those who listen, the festival will also host clinics to show students first-hand the joy of chamber music within these specific genres. The 2008 Artists-in-Residence, the Blue Rose Trio, will join violinist Keenan Fletcher, to lead each chamber ensemble in discovering how each instrument relates to another within the group. The festival is also pleased to provide the students and the local communities a series of chamber music performances at the Uptown Marble Theater in Marble Fallseach evening.
