DANCE INSTRUCTORS

Jane Allen
Jane Allen

(Ballet, Pointe) Jane's early training came from the the Royal Academy System in Canada.  She danced and taught ballet and contemporary dance at the Western Dance Theater in Vancover, Canada.  She studied further in New York at the Merce Cunningham School and the Martha Graham School.

Mary Daniel

(Ballroom dance instructor) Mary received her PE degree and dance certified from SWTSU.  As a child she danced a lot with her family and received bronze and silver medals at competitions.  Her favorites to teach are the waltz, rhumba, two-step, fox trot swing/jitterbug, tango, and cha-cha.

Chandra Irvin
Chandra Irvin

(Ballet, Pointe, Musical Theatre) Chandra studied many forms of dance including ballet, pointework, lyrical, clogging, and Broadway-style tap and jazz.  She has trained under many instructors including Gayla Chilton,  and Karen Buchholz-DePriest. She was a choreographer for the HCCT's summer 2005 family musical The Hobbit, and the 2006 production of The 1940's Radio Hour.

Lacy Jones
Lacy Jones

(Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet) Lacy began dance in west Texas, then moved to Marble Falls and trained under Kathleen VanBerg.  She has a great love for children and works with our children’s classes and Kindermusic. Her other passions include playing folk harp and being involved in theatrical productions.

Randall Marks
Randall Marks

(Ballet, Pointe) Randall trained at Philadelphia College of Performing Arts, Joffrey Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet and Tidewater Ballet.  He has danced professionally in leading roles with New York City's Dennis Wayne's Dance Company, Metroplitan Opera Dance Company, Connecticut Ballet, Garden State Ballet, Ballet Austin and Atlantic City Ballet.  He is currently director of dance at Austin School for the Performing and Visual Arts.  His dancing, choreography and teaching has taken him to more than 62 countries around the world.

Alicia Sommer
Alicia Sommer – Artistic Director

(Pre-Ballet, Ballet, Pointe)  Alicia trained in Guadalajara, Mexico, with Ballet Folklorico, and in Austin, Texas, with Ballet Austin, the University of Texas, Up With People 1986 World Tour, Austin Contemporary Dance Company, and Jose Greco’s Ricardo Garcia.  She currently dances in Argentina and studies under dance masters every summer in New York City.  She is the driving force behind Harmony's dance department, while also maintaining a career as a flight attendant and being the proud mommy of four daughters.

Susan Stivers
Susan Stivers

(Jazz, Dance Team Prep)  A former Kilgore Rangerette, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology, and taught dance arts in public schools for nine years. Her experience also includes extensive choreographing and judging for competitions, tryouts and solos.  She and Josh, owners of the Java Bean Cafe, are proud parents of two daughters.
